“Living in Biloxi is nice, with plenty to do: shows, restaurants, fishing, shopping, casinos and history; the people are mostly friendly, there are more nice areas than rough ones, and it is a beautiful family-oriented town.”about 0:05:21
“The reviewer has called Biloxi home for 18 years: a small city with big city vibes where the 49,000 citizens have a real community attitude and look out for one another.”about 0:05:54
“A reviewer from the Pacific northwest calls it the most destitute place they have been: casinos and a beach under swim restrictions because of bacteria, no economy, a husband jumped for his bike, a minimum wage of $7.25 and $1,300 for a one-bedroom, disgusting food and rude people.”about 0:06:19
Her mother was a stripper in Mobile, Alabama, and her childhood was grim: she was sexually abused by her father, ran away, married at 13 and was divorced by 14. Tests later put her IQ at 71, and a psychologist gave her a mental age of nine. At 14 she was mixing drinks and stripping in the Gulfport and Biloxi bars, and sometimes selling herself, telling everyone she was 20.
At 16 she met Ronald Wodesick, a 26-year-old US Air Force staff sergeant and instructor with the 3410th Technical Training Group at Keesler Air Force Base, at the Sports Page bar. He was divorced with two children and, by the episode's account, a steady, decent man. She told him she was 20 and moved into his apartment. A few weeks later he learned her real age, panicked at what it meant for his liberty and his career, and told her to leave. He soon took up with Sandra Sowash.
On 1 June 1982 she told her friend Gina Pacal on the phone that she loved Ronald but would also like to kill him. The night before the murder she stood outside Ronald's apartment shouting obscenities.
Ronald and Sandra were asleep. Ronald fought back and was beaten nearly unconscious. Ronald was stabbed 19 times in the face, neck and chest, his head nearly severed. He was found at sunrise about fifty feet from the road. The butcher knife was never recovered.
The three drove to Slidell, Louisiana. At Mildred Page Robinson's house she soaked the jumpsuit in water, said she had started her period, asked for cut-off jeans and went to sleep. At the station she gave a 14-page statement.
She served about 25 years at the Central Mississippi Correctional Facility.
