Donalsonville is a small town in Seminole County, deep in the south-west corner of Georgia, population around 2,488, grown up around a lumber company that built houses for its own workers. It sits far enough south that the only other case within twenty-five miles is over the state line in the Florida panhandle, ten minutes from Two Egg.
The ten murders come from just two episodes, and they are not evenly spread. Episode 326, set in the spring of 1973, accounts for eight of them, among them six members of a farming family killed on a 525-acre farm on River Road by four escaped prisoners who drove into the county. Episode 164 brings the remaining two, from a small town in Jackson County, Florida, in 1989. This is a town carried by one long episode rather than a steady drumbeat of them.
Worth saying plainly: this counts the show's cases, not crime. The show picks the towns it visits, and Donalsonville got one big, terrible story and very little else. A rank of 115 overall, and first in Georgia, says more about the podcast's map than about Seminole County.
