These are the show's cases, not crime statistics: the show picks the towns.
East Amwell Township is farm country in western central New Jersey, about an hour from Philadelphia and an hour ten from New York, with 3,933 people at the 2020 count and fewer still in 1973. In August of that year a teenage girl was killed there, a straight-A student heading into her senior year. That was episode 1, and it is the township's entire contribution to the league.
The remaining three deaths come from Fallsington, 17 miles away, in episode 360. It is a small Bucks County town forty minutes outside Philadelphia, with a butcher shop that sold more than meat and a killing quoted at $1,500. Three people died on an August evening in 1980, among them a young couple, one of them 21 and pregnant.
So the East Amwell area is the quiet farmland between two big cities, and its four murders are two nights seven years apart. Two episodes, four people, 117th place.
