These are the show's cases, not crime statistics: the show picks the towns.

Canyon Lake is in Riverside County, southern California, about an hour and a quarter from both Los Angeles and San Diego. The town has 11,080 people and is built around a lake in Railroad Canyon, across 4.66 square miles, with a good share of that under water.

The railroad got there first. In July 1880 the California Southern Railroad began work through the canyon, working towards a line from San Diego to Chicago. It got as far as Barstow, about 150 miles away. Native people warned that the canyon flooded every six months, and the line was washed out in 1884, in 1916 and again in 1927, when the company gave up after roughly 50 years. A frog war is when a small railroad crosses another company's tracks and the argument ends in a brawl.

The league record here is one episode. Episode 70, aired in 2018, is the only claim within 25 miles, and it carries four murders, all from February and March 1994. That puts the town at rank 163 overall and second in California, which is a strange standing for 11,080 people and a lake.
