These are the show's cases, not crime statistics: the show picks the towns.

Chunchula is an unincorporated community in Mobile County, Alabama, about half an hour from Mobile, with a population of 241 in 2023. It was Chinchula first, a Choctaw word for fox, which suits a place that now sits second in Alabama and thirty-first overall.

The Chunchula area runs from Chunchula itself out to Citronelle, twelve miles away, and across into Mississippi to Lucedale, twenty-three miles off and the seat of George County. Mobile is the thread: half an hour from Chunchula, forty-five minutes from Lucedale, and the city all three look toward.

Most of the total is one episode's work. Episode 447, from 2023, claimed thirteen victims across nine cases that run from 1992 to 2004. Episode 500 added five from two days in August 2016, and episode 215 one more from August 2004. Take episode 447 out and this is a thin hotspot. Leave it in and a town of 241 people ranks thirty-first.
