These are the show's cases, not crime statistics: the show picks the towns.

Kingston Township sits about half an hour outside Scranton, in Luzerne County, with 7,076 people as of 2025 and a motto calling it the gateway to the Back Mountain. It was one of the original townships formed by the Susquehanna Land Company of Connecticut in 1790, named after Kingston, Rhode Island, and first called King's Town. Whole regions were later stripped away to form new municipalities, which is the usual fate of a township with a good name and plenty of land.

It ranks 67th overall and second in Pennsylvania on the strength of one episode, episode 585, which holds three cases: May 2002, May 2003 and June 2004. One episode carries the whole count, and the cases sit in three separate years. The episode opens on a middle-class upbringing in the Back Mountain area and a career as a pharmacist.

Three cases, six victims, one episode, in a township of 7,076 people.
