These are the show's cases, not crime statistics: the show picks the towns.

The Mineral Point area is a pair of small towns in south-western Wisconsin, in the old lead-mining country about an hour from Madison. Mineral Point itself is the centre. It covers 1.89 square miles, has a population of 2,494, a motto about where Wisconsin begins, and a historic district built on galena. Twenty-five miles away is Mount Horeb, a village of 7,727 with Norwegian roots and a Main Street lined with trolls.

The cases come in two bursts. Episode 64 has most of them: four victims, with the murders dated May 1983 and the later stalking cases running from 2009 to 2015. Episode 389 adds two more, one from November 1981 and one from 1952. Everything in the count comes from those two episodes, across four decades.

That puts the area 68th overall and second in Wisconsin.
