These are the show's cases, not crime statistics: the show picks the towns.

Naples sits on the Gulf of Mexico in Collier County, south-west Florida, about two hours from Miami and two and a half hours from Tampa. By July 1985, when its first case arrived, it was a retirement town of wealthy, elderly residents: median age 66.3, median home price above a million dollars. The second case came on 3 July 2015, thirty years later.

Four victims across two dates, both dates in one episode. Nothing accumulates here. The count is one case in the 1980s, one in the 2010s, and three decades of quiet in between, which is still good enough for 124th overall and third in Florida.

Oddly, the town is older than either case and has been selling itself for longer. It was founded in 1886 by a former Confederate general and a newspaper publisher; by 1888, about 80 people lived there. Then a pier opened, then a hotel, then a slow century of growth to 19,187 residents. For a place built on the promise of mild winters and good fishing, two cases in thirty years is almost restful.
