Oshawa is the town the show reached for when it wanted Canada's Motor City, the Detroit of Canada, a place built around the GM plants. It is also a single-episode town: two murders within 25 miles, both in Oshawa itself, both from one case the hosts unpacked in episode 526. Rank 555 overall and third in Ontario is not a boast. It is what a map looks like when one story lands close to home.
The case spans 2008 and 2017, and the two victims carry the count between them rather than a long run of separate episodes. The 2017 thread begins in Oshawa harbour, where a fisherman and his grandson found a torso in the water on 11 September, and the identification led back to a teenager who had been missing since late August, a girl who drifted in and out of the city, stayed at a youth centre and was trying to get clean. That is the whole of it.
Worth saying plainly: this counts the show's cases, not the town's crime. The show picks where it goes. Oshawa is just where it stopped.
