Post Falls is panhandle country: north-western Idaho, Kootenai County, a place that started with a lumber mill on the Spokane River and now runs to about 44,000 people. On the show's league it ranks 226 overall and third in Idaho.

Its six murders arrive in only two episodes, which is the neat part. Episode 720, set in the town itself at zero miles, accounts for four victims, with dates running from November 1995 to some point after October 1999. Episode 306, seven miles away in Coeur d'Alene, adds two more from 2014. One heavy episode carries two thirds of the count; the neighbour supplies the rest.

Worth saying plainly: this counts the show's cases, not the town's crime rate. James and Jimmie choose where to look, and a town then gets ranked for what they found. Post Falls found itself in the same episode four times over.
