Williamsburg is a town of 473 people in Green Township, one of 15 townships in Wayne County, eastern Indiana. Families from North Carolina settled the area in 1810, before Indiana was a state, and the town was platted in 1830. It is small enough that the 25 mile circle does most of the work: only one of the three episodes in the count is set in the town itself.
Episode 654 carries half the count by itself, two victims in February 2010. The rest arrives in single helpings: episode 738 in Winchester, 15 miles off, with a case dated July 2003, and episode 5 in Eaton, Ohio, 24 miles away and over the state line, dated January 2007. That is a slow scatter across a decade and two states rather than one very bad year.
Four is a count of the show's cases, not of crime. The show picks the towns, so a place this size can look busy on a league table because a story got told well. Williamsburg's rank of 312 overall, third in Indiana, says more about a running order than about Wayne County.
