The story

Anson 'Buzz' Clinton III was 28 in 1994, a certified nursing assistant and odd-job man who had recently begun stripping.

Kim was the family's black sheep. She had two children by 20 and was pregnant again when she met Buzz. They lived in a converted tool shed behind his parents' house. In October 1992 a probate court gave Cynthia temporary custody of two-year-old Rebecca, though Kim completed the required steps and got her back. When Buzz and Kim threatened to move to Arizona with the girl, Buzz represented her in court and won.

She became pregnant with his twins and miscarried in the fourth month. I'll take care of it.'

Court records later showed no indication of abuse, though Rebecca was developmentally delayed.

On March 10th, 1994, Buzz left home to meet a buyer for his tow truck. Buzz walked towards the car. Chris later testified that his father had said he was going to kill the man.

Buzz was found shot to death in his car beside the road.

Chris described them smashing the gun with a hammer and throwing the pieces out of the car in Essex. When her visa expired in early 1997 she moved to Dublin, using her own name in both countries.

After she gave police the pay phone's time, date and number, he told her, 'You set me up.'

Buzz is buried in Duck River Cemetery in Old Lyme.
