In February 2015 Michael Earl Reese was shot once in the back of the head in the kitchen of the house he shared with his wife at Banks Street in Morris, Alabama, twenty minutes outside Birmingham.
A couple of years later she met Michael Earl Reese, born in July 1974, and married him. They had no children and lived in a small, cluttered house on Banks Street.
Michael learned of the affair once it became sexual.
On February 18th, 2015, both went to work. Michael collected her from her job in the accounting department of the Jefferson County courthouse. They visited his mother, stopped at the post office and attended a church service, then picked up burgers and fries at Milo's on the way home.
She came back on the line and said they needed to meet; at the Shell station in the neighbourhood, he said, she gave him a .38 revolver and her own jewellery. He later dumped the gun off Highway 75 in Pinson and gave the jewellery to another woman.
Morris police walked through and found Michael face down in a pool of blood in the kitchen. He fell onto studs from a construction project. Just before ten the Morris police asked the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office for help.
Suspicion settled quickly. Michael's blood was found on his Bible, in his car.
The detail that struck investigators was the food.
She was later listed in Bessemer. The house on Banks Street has been demolished and the lot stands vacant. Michael is buried at Bethel United Methodist Cemetery in Warrior, Alabama.
