Green Bay, Wisconsin, sits in Brown County on the bay in eastern Wisconsin, about two hours and twenty minutes from Madison, three hours from Chicago and two hours from Pewaukee. James puts the population at about 107,000, the median household income at about $55,200, a little below the national average, and the median home cost at $212,700, also below the national average. The town's history runs from the Langlade family arriving around 1745, through British control in 1763 and American control in 1783, to the state's first newspaper, its first mail delivery, and the founding of the Packers in 1918. Three reviews give it five, three and two stars.
From seventh grade she was on a mood stabiliser, an antidepressant and an antipsychotic, and at about eighteen she stopped taking all of it.
Her own record followed. In June 2020 she was found walking in the middle of the road, high on methamphetamine, told the officer she was on a different planet, kicked him in the shin and was put on three years probation. In April and May 2021 she was hospitalised after two suicide attempts, was diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder and bipolar disorder, and gave birth to a son who went to live with her grandparents in Texas.
On Monday, February 21st, 2022, she picked up Shad Therion, her boyfriend from high school, then twenty-four and working at his family's business. They did drugs and ended up in the basement of his mother's house, where she strangled him with a dog choke chain as part of a sex act. She told detectives he coughed up blood and she kept pulling because she was already halfway done, that it took three to five minutes, that she liked it, and that she asked them whether they knew what it was like to love something so much that you kill it. She then had sex with the body, put a dildo in his mouth and anus, and cut him apart with kitchen knives, a bread knife working best. She put his head and penis in a black bucket, covered it with a blanket, and carried a leg and a foot out to the van in a crock pot box. The rest, including the upper torso and organs, was left in bags in the basement.
Between 2:30 and 3 a.m. Shad's mother, Tara Pankinich, was woken by the storm door slamming. Later that morning she went down to the basement, saw a black bucket that should not have been there, lifted the blanket and found her son's head. The 911 operator asked whether she was hallucinating or had taken mushrooms.
In February 2023 she attacked her defence lawyer at a motions hearing, and in July 2023 a defence psychologist called her psychotic while a court-ordered psychologist and the judge found her competent.
