These are the show's cases, not crime statistics: the show picks the towns.
Jackson sits in the far east of New Hampshire, close to the Maine border and inside the White Mountains. It is a town of 998 people in Carroll County, first named New Madberry after the place in the UK, settled in 1778 and renamed Adams by 1800. A road was pushed through Pinkham Notch in 1772.
The show has one episode on the town, and it carries three murders, all from January 1985. A family that had run an inn in the notch since 1960 is at the centre of it. Two children were born in the early 1960s, and the daughter was a champion javelin thrower. It is Episode 498.
