These are the show's cases, not crime statistics: the show picks the towns.

Woonsocket is a small city of about 41,500 in north-eastern Rhode Island, eight square miles of Providence County, twenty minutes from Providence and an hour from Boston. French Canadians moved there, and by 1913 it had the sixth largest population of French or French Canadian foreign nationals in the country. The Woonsocket area reaches past those eight square miles: thirteen episodes, twenty-four murders and twelve towns, from the city itself out to the Boston suburbs.

The cases run from 1961 to 2008: East Providence in 1961 and 1963, Raynham in 1968 and 1978, Sharon in 1983, Needham in 1987 and 1988, Barrington in 1991, North Smithfield in 1992, Pawtucket and Foster in 1993, Framingham in 1995, Cranston in 1999, Woonsocket in 2003 and 2004, Warren in 2008. Six of the thirteen episodes have one victim and four have two. The largest, Foster in 1993 (episode 395), has four.

Woonsocket's own episode (episode 225) covers three women gone from the same few streets over seventeen months.
