Jimmie P is funny
What does "Jimmie P is funny" mean on Small Town Murder?
James's Twitter handle, read aloud as "I am at Jimmie P is funny" in the closing plugs; it sounds like a boast about Jimmie but is really the name of James's own account, spelled with a y to tell the two Jimmies apart. He used it at the end of nearly every episode from 2017 to late 2021, usually telling listeners to copy and paste his surname rather than try to spell it.

The story behind the phrase
Where did "Jimmie P is funny" come from?
It is in the closing plugs of episode 1, where James hands Jimmie the Snapchat and then says "I am at Jimmy P is funny" and gives his surname. In episode 2 he adds "good luck spelling it".
It is James's own social media handle, read out as part of the sign-off, so the odd name sounds like a boast about Jimmie but is just his account. The transcripts never say why he picked it. Because his surname is hard to spell, he tells listeners to copy and paste it from the show description, or just use the handle.
How is "Jimmie P is funny" used now?
It stayed as James's sign-off for several years. By episode 50 he says "don't bother" spelling the surname, and in episode 86 he thinks his Instagram is the same one. In episode 623 he complains that he switched to using his own name instead and should have stuck with the old handle.
When was "Jimmie P is funny" first said?
It was first heard in episode 1, "A Quadruple Murder in Mississippi", on 18 January 2017, at about 1:01:24.
"uh that snapchat and I am at Jimmy P is funny and James Petra Gallley you can find me please guys rate and review on iTunes that is what the biggest thing will help bring us drive us up the charts it'll help us out a ton it'll help us get sponsors and help us get"
In the closing social-media plug James hands Snapchat over to Jimmie, then reads out "I am at Jimmie P is funny and James Pietragallo" and asks listeners to rate and review on iTunes. It is not coined as a joke there: it is his existing handle dropped into routine housekeeping, and it becomes the fixed sign-off for the next four years.
