Forest bride
What does "Forest bride" mean on Small Town Murder?
A woman carried off into the wilds to be kept as a wife. James uses it for the mountain-man fantasy of skipping courtship and simply taking someone back to camp.

The story behind the phrase
Where did "Forest bride" come from?
James first says it in episode 381, describing a teenager taken at gunpoint and driven to the woods "to become his fucking you know his forest bride". It passes without comment.
The picture does the work: a man in the woods who thinks a wedding is something you can kidnap. In episode 747 a father and son in the Montana mountains decide it is time the son had a wife, and James sums up the plan as "she's going to be a forest bride".
How is "Forest bride" used now?
Episode 747 turned it into a proper bit. James invents a forest bride stamp, Jimmie joins in with "he took a forest bride", and James later rules that in Montana, once you get her back to camp, "she is your forest bride".
When was "Forest bride" first said?
It was first heard on the main feed in episode 381, "Hunting The Home Hermit", on 20 April 2023, at about 1:55:20.
Only the main feed is searched. The Patreon bonus episodes aren't, so a phrase may be older there.
"to become his fucking you know, his forest bride."
James says it once, in passing, about a man driving a kidnapped 19-year-old to his camp in the woods. It sounds like a phrase of the moment, not a running joke yet.
